Charging Credits & Rebates

Federal Government Incentives

The federal government currently has a program offering a tax credit which covers 30% of costs for charger installation and hardware, which has a cap of $1,000 for residential and $30,000 for commercial installations. Tax credits still apply for installations completed as far back as 2017.

It’s worth noting, the US Federal Government offers up to $7,500 in tax credit for the purchase of a new EV. US Federal tax credit

Texas State Government Incentives

At the moment, the only incentives the Texas State Government offers is a rebate of $2,500 for buying or leasing qualified EV’s (Texas EV Rebate Program). Unfortunately, there are no incentives by the state of Texas offering any incentives for charging installations and hardware as of 2022. However, there are plenty of commercial and residential utility rebates that do apply.

Commercial/Residential Utility Rebates

There are currently upwards of about 30 utility companies in the US and Canada that offer various rebates for purchasing EV charging equipment and installations. Specifically for smart EV stations, which help utility companies to lower the demand on the grid. Rebates can range from $150 - $750.
